…in that it is based on ethnic communities having disproportional rights and privileges, and such a political arrangement is both undemocratic and technically illegal in the EU for its members.
Have you written to the EU about this and asked them to take away the disproportional rights afforded the "RoC" with only 600,000 real GCs having the same power as the UK with 65 million people..... What did they say...What what!!!!!!!!! I do wish you would think things through before you post crap!!!
That's good advice for yourself...
The EU is a club of applied & approved members and should NEVER be confused with a country's constitution like the RoC, for which the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights was written!
So there is room for a Cyprus club then Homer........The "RoC" constitution and the TRNC/KKTC constitution can be members of this exclusive club...Looking foreword to the negotiations.....
Problem is you don't have a constitution but a gimmick...
Yeh Yeh!!!! What we have is a solid constitution where as yours is in the ether because one minute you tell us that it is the original CYPRUS REPUBLIC constitution and then a whole different one that is the "RoC".....Which is it to be snake boy
Off to work now but will be chomping on the bit to get back and read your well thought out and honest reply...Take your time because I might be a while.....
Solid constitution? CYPRUS REPUBLIC? Snake boy?
You make it impossible for me to give you a "well thought out and honest reply"!!!
Chao!

You said:Andros, you think that there will be partition - albeit with more land for the south than is currently the case? Sounds like you're signalling defeat.
Defeat! Please don't view my explanation as a sign or defeat, but more as a warning of the double-standards of Turkish Cypriots policies - in other words, as soon as they feel like they are in some kind of trouble they feel the need to call upon Turkey to "Exercise their Guarantor right of intervention". In simple words, I don't trust a solution that divides the federal establishment into two "Founding" (according to Mr Fat Talat) states. That is primarily why I would prefer some kind of agreed partition rather than signing a bad deal. Thus, the only agreements, if they are even REMOTELY like the dead Annan Plan, is a very BAD deal. Come Greek Cypriots, this is a very serious point in Cyprus history.
Look at it this way - where were you in 1960? (A child, not born yet, too young to voice your Cypriot concerns or just waiting for the Internet to arrive as you were to scared to march the streets in protest?). Today is our time to voice our concerns, to path our future, the future for our children, our country in Europe. The rejection of the Annan Plan by most of us was a blessing in disguise - can you imagine if we were tricked into saying "Yes". Do not allow the UN Talks to reach this stage again, unless it is a settlement plan that has no inter-constituent states, guarantorship and no derogation, and etc, etc.
According to the recent news reports, the Turkish Cypriots have already started their chanting of constituent states and guarantor rights for Turkey. In that case, and if they truly want to end this Cyprus issue, and are bent against a true unification plan, they should announce their rejection to this to the world and sit with President Christofias in reducing their occupied land to an area in relation to their population and seal an "agreed Partition" deal. At least we'll never be confronted with bogus Annan Style scenarios.
Do you have the balls? (As the Americans say).
As Get Real said, I too would agree to partition, but only if the land allocation is realistic (Well, I think that is what you meant mate!).
Personally, I have had enough of these Tit-for-Tat UN brokered, time-wasting, THREATENING the REPUBLIC OF CYPRUS processes. The Turkish Cypriots seriously need to understand the true amount of land they feel they are entitled to. 37%, you must be joking! We will never allow you to force some kind of Recognition of the so-called TRNC occupying such a huge area with a small Cypriot population - our politicians are not that stupid.

land will be redistributed in any case. but these factors, which seem to be forgotten, will be considered too.
vp i understand your concern for security. as a Turcophone, i understand your point of view. but the issue is security, and if a solution is to be found it must be designed to defend the populce from the extreme behaviour of the fanatics who are a threat to us as a whole. you are certain of their existence within the Grecophone population, this may well be true, but there is no denying that the same ilk live amongst you, and that it is natural, not unlike anywhere on the planet where there have been these conflicts to redress this fear, in a manner where Injustice is condemed universally.
Turkey does not represent a Good Guarantor for Turkish Cypriots in this context, because Turkey is not a suitable Guarantor for the whole.
As Individuals we have a Right to our Representation in Government; to be represented as equals without discrimination. A State in the modern world cannot prevent our Association. A Bicommunal State offers to its citizens their: Rights as Individuals, And there Rights as Persons. There is nothing wrong, in Cyprus, with Two National Assemblies where there is equality of their electorate, where there is equality among all citizens, and where the majority recognises minorities demonstrating this respect by attending to their special needs as well. But, they, the National Assemblies, cannot exist without a Country in which all people stand United, dedicated to their betterment as Humans.
Cyprus is an island.

It was proven to you in the past, maps included, that the 3% figure is nothing but a myth so why do you insist with erroneous data?

Your denial can only sink you further because the only thing you've ever managed to prove on this forum is that you're a paranoid schizophrenic.
