If you are of a sensitive disposition, leave now!
Debates are disciplined arguments.

If you resort to labelling people e.g. racists, bigots, leave now!
Debates require open minds.

If you think a debater is aggressive because they are killing your ideas, leave now!
Debating is about destroying arguments.

Is anyone still there?

Who is brave enough to open a topic for discussion ..... :D

Where is the debate? :? :?

Just general chat if you ask me!

I have an open mind - but not to racism

Is souvla particularly good at firing debate?

What factors would stifle debate, face to face ... or would seeing reactions heighten the excitement?

Personally , I have always enjoyed karaolous , boiled or BBQed .
Mental and physical stimulation , for me at least is a bowl of mountain Karaolous and a mountain bottle of ice cold Zivania !! At such occasions I feel very vulnerable and yet utterly unassailable !!

Brains versus Beauty ....

Having both I am unqualified to discuss it rationally… :?

Do you have both in equal measure?

Which one would you prefer to retain into old age?

Good question…

I am so incredibly handsome and intelligent, it is hard to judge. My modesty being the only feature I have in greater measure…

Which would I retain into old age though – a difficult question… Would I prefer to be ugly with brains or handsome and dribbling? I guess with hindsight it wouldn’t benefit me to have the looks and in age so I’d prefer to have my marbles…

Oracle doesn't east Souvla... :(

That's an assumption I would contest ... were that souvla to consist of octopus interlaced with courgettes .... I may be tempted ...

What is your favourite souvla constituent?

I prefer goat… Did you know that if you put chunks of pork between the goat it takes up the taste without the cost… :D

I will dissect this point if I may....

You desire to be both old and distinguished ...

Are you old, but not distinguished?

Are you distinguished, but not old?

Or, are you neither?

I'm enjoying getting older, with it is coming a definite inner and outer calmness and with the years of experience, perhaps even a certain wisdom.

Still got most of my hair. Would worry me to lose it though. A bit grey in places.

In my case my "dignified aura" as M puts it, if I have one, would come from the wear and tear around the eyes and my shortsightedness.

Did I hear someone say GOAT ?

For those members who haven't tried it can I urge you, with the benefit of my years of experience and wisdom in these matters, to get hold of some West Indian/Carribean curried goat. It's to die for. Also try their dumplings - absolutely marvellous.

Sorry a bit off-thread.
