We have green, green, green all around us at the moment and the garden and surrounding fields are alive with birds and their magical songs… I watched a kestrel suspended as if on string at the end of our garden this afternoon before plunging on its unfortunate prey… a cheeky robin watched me as I weeded the garden and Scoops owls cried out from my (newly connected) power cables this evening…

You can stuff the grass where the sun doesn't shine (literally in the UK's case ;) ) as far as I'm concerned. I've lived most my life really by the sea and that far outweighs any green benefits. Plus grass gives me heyfever. :) And anyway, lots of the Paphos area is quite green if you like that sort of thing.

Cheers

8) Well mate if you could shoo some of them my way i would appreciate it..we even have a bird table amply stocked to feed them! Apart from a different species of owl and the addition of a greater spotted woodpecker thats exactly what i had in my garden on the edge of a town of 250.000 people. and as i stated thats the sound of what i miss here..especially song thrush and male blackbird.

Why Grump, you're a poet!! :D

The birdsong is beautiful where I live. I've also seen many robins, kestrels and the wagtails run across our garden all day.

I forgot wagtails!

They love to play (feed prolly) on our pool cover – they seem to know that the cats can’t get them there!

I forgot the hedghogs too – we have a garden full of them – drive Skilos wild!
