You do make a good point though.Yes some things do,especially in the mountains.

Well that could have been true if it wasn't for the fact that I believe Cyprus would benefit from less tourists ... especially the ones that frequent Ayia Napa ... If I was Director of Tourism I would drive them out personally!

But truly, the number of changing scents I experienced on my way home today ... the salty sea smell, the washed veranda smell, the emerging blossom smell, the clean air smell (between the odd car exhaust  )

But what "in the mountains", Mouflon, goats, cedars, pine, sandwiches?

....and the smell of drying lemons?

They are not drying as fast as I thought .... :?

BTW ... definite cicadas tonight no doubt ... many of them chirping away in the bushes behind the vine ... no doubt .. ears heightened ... BBQ going, balmy, definitely cicadas singing outside! :D

If true, at this rate I will miss them by the time I get there. They will have died out. Poor things. I hope your Brit side isnt complaining.

They are just warming up for you Deniz ... clearing their throats and practicing their scales ....

It's been a bit humid, almost jungle-like tonight so prepare yourself for possibly one of those cyclical insect-ridden summers.
Still it's great for bat spotting!

The night sky is amazing again .... a true visual feast.

Unfortunately, it is so easy to imbibe with the wine and dull the senses again ...

Cicadas don't sing after dark, it must be crickets or frogs - or even cockroaches..............

Just back from a walk on the beach.

A sense of reassurance has descended from focusing on the unchanging shape of the distant Akamas moulds that jut out to sea. Their curves softened by the light mist rolling in, observed with relaxed eyes through the various shades of grey as night defeats day.

Face taut from the gentle breath of a cooling breeze. My soul satisfied from having found the ultimate pink pebble, with a surface so smooth to caress, it makes me float.

The cicadas are even louder tonight; their singing concentrated in the row of olive trees on the edge of the field.

The smell of mint in the air .... ripped from the soil by an over-zealous mum, intent on taming years of neglect.

Enough twaddle ........

.... I'm ready to hit the Cyprus Problem threads. :D
