Both my wife and myself get on very well with each others parents.My mother and father live in Cyprus,so the distance think maybe helps my wife.
My mother in law lives next door.We returned UP North after her husband died,to be near her and help her out when needed.
It works very well,she is a young 73 year old,with a great outlook on life.
