This is old news ~ I've been following Connors problems now for ages.

To be honest the way some Cyprus developers treat their clients it's a wonder there are any properties actually sold ~ it's not unusual for buyers to wait between 5 and 10 years ( if not much longer ) to get the deeds to the property and it's quite often the case that the developer has taken out a mortgage on the house you have just bought so he can finance his next venture.

It's rotten to the core and some have little regard for their client after they have relieved the buyer of their purchase money ~ some Cyprus lawyers are also tainted with the same brush and can be as corrupt as the dodgy developers.

So if anybody tells you that buying in Cyprus is just like the UK as it was a British colony and they have adopted the same laws ~ start laughing as nothing could be further from the truth .

Whilst there are a lot of honest developers and lawyers the number of dodgy ones is increasing and at last the buying public is waking up to the fact.

Bill ~~~~ who has his deeds

Oh dear you do really need that wake up call ~ everything in Cyprus isn't as rosy as you obviously think.

I do hope for your sake that they don't screw you for to much and you learn from the experience.

Being a "returning" GC offers no immunity from the increasing amount of dodgy characters out there ~ in fact it sometimes makes you more liable.

If you would like some websites to read let me know it may even help you to avoid making the mistakes others have made before you.

But I guess living in your mums house you won't really be affected in the housing scandals that seem to be rife in Cyprus .

There's not many countries that allow a builder to still own a property after he has sold it and and worse still to raise a mortgage on it to finance future projects.

I'll repeat my comment ~ buying in Cyprus especially off plan is fraught with danger and the system stinks .

It's what you post on the forum that needs addressing ... your face and body look good ... so balance these with your mind

Then you are indeed in a very fortunate position and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I presume you already have the deeds in your name ?

Sorted a few years ago courtesy of the helpful people at Paphos Land Registry. :D

All just a matter of being organised ....

But I'm also looking to buy somewhere more reclusive, so I'll remember your prognostications
