Bitter

Postby bill cobbett » Thu Mar 06, 2008 9:21 pm

Let me say first that I think there are some very nice lagers around, so no offence to the continentals on the forum is intended.

I think my life has been missing something. I used to enjoy, from time to time and in moderation of course, a good old warmish pint of English bitter in an English pub.

Time was of course I could have enjoyed a fag at the same time and a healthy discussion with an acquaintance or two, but you'll know that the Thought and Health Police have put a stop to smoking and to anything other than politically correct conversation.

So with the demise of the traditional pub, where are wise assemblies of men/women to meet?

RIP English Pub and Freedom of Speech

You want to watch out mate, any thread around here with the title "Bitter" tends to get locked pretty sharpish!

I don't do chains

(They're for you youngsters ... )
Besides, those juicers are so difficult to clean, they really are a health hazard.

I am one of those so called raw juice, non smoking, non drinking hippies.
Before you say it,yes I am a boring sod.
I would love to see more family friendly places to eat and drink in the UK.
Maybe then we could get rid of this, let's get pissed and cause trouble attitude we are plagued with in the UK.

Purdey, there is no trouble as long as the "trouble" is only between friends.

Quick Update on the locked threads ....

Out of the last FIVE locked threads, FOUR have DT. as the last poster, so I suggest that if you do not want your thread locked ... make sure you quickly post after DT. .....

Just a free tip .... :D

Whats all this locking business? Why is it contiuing? IF a certain members are acting in an unappropriate manner are they getting warnings or are the threads just getting locked? What is the point of a thread getting locked?

I really do feel dumb not getting it all!
