I would say there is a strong belief by GC expats to return to Cyprus as well. Especially refugees that have property in the north, many of them would love to be able to have the choice. You will find that the ease in which people can travel now will mean that many expats would be very willilng to take over their property and maintain it as a second home. Many Cypriots have made a good living here in the UK so they could easily invest in their old properties and use them initially as holiday homes and eventually they will probably retire there.

Although my parents aren't refugees, they have built their houses in Cyprus and they now spend half the year in Cyprus and half in the UK.

Ditto on that one mikkie, my parents do the same and spend 3 months cyprus then 3 months u.k etc.
