Fireworks

Postby kafenes » Thu Mar 06, 2008 12:35 pm

I thought the sale and use of fireworks were banned in Cyprus, and yet when I walked in my local kiosk, I saw a whole lot of stock and a couple of kids (10-12 years old) purchasing some. If I owned the kiosk and something happened to one of these kids, I would never forgive myself.
What people do for a few extra bucks.

My son and three of his friends bought a whole lot yesterday ....

They assured me the shop only sold "safe ones".

I decided to supervise (despite my hate for them ... Turkish bombs trauma) and they were just elaborate sparklers. :D

So even though they look like real fireworks ... they probably are sparkler types if they are sold in the periptera.

These ones certainly didn't look like the sparkler type and even if they were I think they should only be sold to adults as to make sure the kids are being supervised.

What a strange statement. So you're saying, if you owned the kiosk, you would still sell the fireworks to the kids and then hope nothing happened to them?

Surely you should be saying, if I owned he kiosk, I would not be selling fireworks to kids?
