Possible experiment?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Everything to gain and nothing to lose, lets rock and roll with this idea.

Here is another scenario:
GC had proposed that we celebrate EOKA day in the unified Cyprus. TCs objecting to this had said if EOAK day is celebrated then 20th of July should be too. So two seperate bills are introduced to the parliament.

Let's see if the majority of TCs and GCs can approve any of these bills if the system was like Annan Plan or 1960 agreements. And how we solve the dilemma.

What is the point of celebrating july 20th if the republic is united and the TRNC exists no longer?

EOKA day celebrates the independence of Cyprus from the Brits, no? An independent Cyprus that will continue to exist after the island is reunited.

20th of July is not the anniversary day of foundation of TRNC. 20th of July is the liberation day of TC community from Hellenic irredentism, oppressions, fears and tyranny.

Have we statred already ?

Look not trying to be funny or anything but this thread was about the experiment idea. There are more than enough 'traditional' threads elsewhere. Can we leave this one to the experiment idea. It's one thing to suggest a senario for the experiment. It's another to take that suggestion and start arguing about it not in the bounds of the experiment itself but in general terms.

Sorry.

Insan, first of all remove that big picture from your signature.

20th of July is the liberation day of TC community from Hellenic irredentism, oppressions, fears and tyranny.

Insan, what do you think the Ottoman rulers of Cyprus would think if in 1650 somebody told them that there will be a time in the future that Turks in Cyprus would be complaining about Hellenic oppression and tyranny?

Do you know for how long we have been on this island insan? 30 years is nothing compared to our history, and believe me, the "game" is far from over.

If you do not get sensible and accept a fair solution for Cyprus, then you are inheriting a big disaster to your children or grandchildren. Don't make predictions about the future based on the balance of power of today. its a big mistake.

I have not heard of these before but very interesting and indeed food for though. Also similarites to my original idea (as well as differences). Thanks for the pointer.

This might be a better starting link btw (and maybe not)

I have much reading to do about micronations but my inital reaction is why not try and set up 'New Cyprus' micronation?

Believe it or not, it's not virtual, it's actually a real place :o

"Sealand is the Man"
I just received this fairly comical email:
I am writing you this email in regards to your article titled Sealand Is Not A Country. Well, Matt, I'm here to tell you that Sealand IS in fact a country. A lot of people are quick to judge Sealand simply because it has two huge gun turrets on the top. Don't hate Sealand for that; embrace Sealand. My friend and I have been on a mission for the past two weeks to encourage the growth and success of Sealand, its government and the prince and princess themselves. We love Sealand...I just want to let you know that we do not appreciate you trying to "uncountryize" Sealand. Its uptight critics and geographologists [sic] such as yourself that are hindering the success of Sealand as one of the world's super powers. Sealand WILL continue to grow and Sealand WILL shoot you with its massive gun turrets should you decide to keep slamming it. Leave Sealand alone. Sealand is the man.
