im not going to take from any animal shelters as i will end up with so many dogs or cats that i wont be able to get good homes for, it is very sad the situation here in cyprus with the stray animals but im english and love animals have dogs of my own but my pet shop is going to have birds of all kinds and tropical fish and also every accessory , food, toys, shampoos etc you need for any kind of pet. i was just wondering if anyone knew of any pet store which has closed in order to buy some old stock, i have my supplier but it would be handy to buy some more stock cheaper.

Well .... just take a few at a time, until they sell, and then take a few more and so on ... no need to take lots in one go.

They have puppies and kittens ....

no i cannot take in any animals like that they wont sell especially not to cypriot people i know i married one.....and also i think if im going to be selling animals like dogs or cats i have to have some sort of check from the goverment to see if the animals are in good health, thats why im sticking to fish and birds as the importers have all the documents they need to be bringing these animals to sell in shops.

As you won't be selling kittens and pups (and I can fully understand why) maybe you could "advertise" some of the PAWS orphans in your window and keep a collection box by the till? I do so envy you with your pet shop!!! I always wanted to work in a pet shop when I was growing up!!! Good luck

oh i dont mind putting anything in my window advertising puppies or kittens who need a home, i have a lolcal pet shop in the town centre who i have grown to know quite well they sell dogs ets but they are pedigree and they told me as were only a small village based shop dogs and kittens are too much for the shop and id prefer to have just smaller animals like fish birds hamsters etc. thank you i have always wanted to own my own pet shop as well now i have found the shop its a good oppourtunity for me.

well i didnt mean it horrible but when i met my husband he wasnt very fond of animals especially dogs but since hes been with me and got used to my love for animals through the years hes changed and i know other cypriot people are not fond of animals over here especially the stray cats and dogs, so selling a dog which is of no pedigree would not appeal to the people living in my village im afraid, i will leave the dog selling to the larger pet stores
