Only by meeting , talking interacting and understanding each others concerns will they improve the prospects for a just and peaceful solution. If the Piratis approach is followed , there will be no meetings , no discussions just repetition of demands that neither side wants to accept. I have , against my principles , visited the occupied part , I never recognised their custom controls but I complied with their request to see my passport , its not capitulation but acceptance of realities. I have always referred to the occupied part of Cyprus as such in view of the fact that the entire international community deems it to be occupied. To refuse however to meet those with whom we have to negotiate , like it or not , is counter productive.
By visiting on the three occasions that I did , and in the short period that I spent there , I had the pleasure of meeting some of my compatriots and gained their friendship , what is wrong with this ?
A lot can be achieved by the two ladies having a chat and a coffee together.

Miltiades ... xipnase!

These meetings are not like your "socials" where everyone drinks loads of wine and pats each other on the back, whilst mumbling "Koumbare" ...

They have to find solutions .. they have to stay sober! ... they have to follow protocol!

BTW .... what star sign are you? :?

Your good at guessing have a guess !
Most solutions to the worlds problems were worked out while the participants were indulging in the art of wine tasting didn't you know !!
Now let us be serious. Unless our people meet and begin interacting we shall never be able to build even a tiny bridge of trust. Even on this forum , VP and I have never met , on a number of occasions that I asked him to share a drink with me he declined, time however I believe has made both of us see that rather than outright "dislike" for each others views it is far better to at least consider opposing views. I'm sure VP would accept to have a drink with me now.
As for you , young.. lady its time to use your undeniable intellect in a constructive fashion rather than the belligerent aggressive manner you seem to relish exhibiting.
Pip - Pip !!
ps. I can guess the month of your birth !!

Go on then!

OK ... so you know when the Brits bombed the Paphos area in 1958  and I had to be delivered in our stable!

... and I've probably blabbed ...

But you as a romantic illusionist ... there are too many of you types in the Zodiac!

So you are certainly, not September, probably not August, I'd say not July or June. Definitely not May, or April. Maybe March, Likely February, Not January or Possibly December.
November yes but no?

Am I right? :?

I still don't have a problem with Mrs X going or indeed Mrs T travelling the other way.

I do however think it was a peculiar way to issue an invitation, that is through a press release.

PS.
Mrs X would do well to take a 50c coin for the ladies, (at the start of the promenade, just to the west of the harbour, but Mrs X may like to take her own tissue paper because my mother-in-law liberated several rolls when she was caught short on her last visit. Mrs X may also like to visit the nearby icon "museum" where a good many of the Church's icons that weren't worth flogging to unscruplous foreign buyers are on display.
