We like it!! :D

It depends on your situation. You have kids/teenager so I personally think Limassol is the best option as there are many families here and many English Curriculum schools. I drove through Paphos and really didn't like what I saw but I know many people love it so there must be more to it and outer villages to explore. Paphos is better for older retired people are there are many like them.

thanks niki, i wouldnt class us in the 'older' bracket just quite yet !!
we are hoping to rent first, and get a feel for the island, so if we did change our minds, it isnt the end of the world, and i suppose whatever complaints there are about the areas in cyprus cannot be half as bad as they are in england !

To be honest Limassol, Nicosia, Larnaca and to some extent Nappa experience the occasional bombing and murders but it's not really anything the average man in the street should worry about as it's directed towards those in the seedy criminal world of Cyprus.

Unlike the UK where street violence is aimed at anybody and everybody.

Cyprus is much much safer thn the UK.

thanks bill,
yes, crime in the UK is very bad, and so many kids have guns/knives now, and shoot anyboby!
we have decided to come to cyprus and nothing will put us off. we just need a buyer for this house first. we are fed up, but its only been on the market for one week, so we will have to keep our patience.

I have lived here just over a year and I love it. My sister lived in Paphos for about 2 years. Personally I prefer Limassol. Paphos is definitely a more beautiful place, but as far as I'm concerned it's like living in the sticks compared to Limassol. We have decent beaches here and places to go out in the night, plus you get the bigger town feel. Plus the size of island means if I really pine for Paphos I can be there in pretty much no time (like yesterday when we went to the marina and enjoyed the sights of construction yards ;) ).

Cheers
