Melomakarona/Μελομακάρονα ?/;

No ... that sounds like Melamokarvouna, the ones we have at Christmas / New Year ....

Please add those to my list too! :D

The almond macaroons with the missing name, have a silver sweet ball in the middle on the top .... and they are so delicious!

Yeah ... that's what I thought!

I wonder if we are having Kypriaka to Greek mistranslation problem. :?

I think AlexISS' pastichio is the macaroni with mince which in Cyprus is called "Makaronia tou Fournou" ....

All those are not fattening anyway, as opposed to souvla, sheftalia, halloumi and lountza ... :lol:

My favourites in Greeklish:
Loukoumia, Gourambedes, Pastitsia, Halva, Loukoumades.

And courtesy of AlexISS' translator:
Λουκούμια, Κουραμπιέδες, Παστίτσια, Χαλβά, Λουκουμάδες.
Loved all that when I was a kid , couldn't afford them now that I can , I'm diabetic these lihoudies are on the prohibitive list !!
My favourite one was KALO PRAMA !!!

yes when you go to a resturant they called the makoronia tou fournou pitstasio, its quite confusing really but i remember the cakes being called that as i really dont like them i prefer the ones coated in icing more of a buscuity texture.
