We all miss something when moving to another country.What do you miss ? Black pudding,green fields,dawn chorous,friends,cows,rain etc..etc..

As I moved the other way I miss a decent Meze,and sitting outside a coffee shop,and the people.

First and foremost my family. (Thank goodness for aeroplanes and those visits home!)
Friends - though I do a lot of e-mails, text and telephone calls!!!!(Have made some very good friends here though)
Community spirit
The variety of bird song along with robins (I know they are here but I have seen so few!)
Fresh crispy spring mornings where you can see your breath in the air when you are out walking your dog and the grass cracks underfoot with the early morning frost!
GREGG'S pasties!!
Lighter nights (Mediterranean nights get so dark so quickly)
Yes, to rain (in moderation)
Yes to snow - but only when it has first fallen. I do not like it when it has turned to 'mush' or black ice!
Green fields - miles and miles of them!

Family and friends are the things that I miss the most. Second to that - maybe like Purdey, English bakers !!!!!

But I miss a lot of things about other countruies too!

Television and non-concetrated orange juice

- Internet grocery delivery
- Boots the Chemist
- Light nights in the summer
- Theatre in London
- Museums and Galleries
- Variety of houses/buildings - Victorian, thatched cottage, Georgian, converted barn, Tudor beams....... It's nearly all concrete boxes here with the occasional stone village house
- Town centres - being able to get everything you need in one place rather than having to drive from one shop to the next

Of course there is many more things I dislike about the UK and on balance Cyprus wins hands down!

Humour is what I miss. The great British knack of pointing a humourous finger at themselves & others. No other countries come anywhere close to it.
Cypriot humour, directed at them is often mistaken as insult. Be good to see them lighten up a little, especially on this forum.
