BULUTOGLULARI: MR. CHRISTOFIAS SHOULD AUTHORIZE MRS. MAVRU FOR THE OPENING OF THE LOKMACI GATE

The Mayor of Northern Nicosia Cemal Bulutoglulari has said that President Mehmet Ali Talat has authorized him on the issue of opening a crossing point at the Lokmaci Barricade and called on the Greek Cypriot leader Dimitris Christofias to delegate a similar authority to the Mayor of South Nicosia Eleni Mavru.
Speaking on a televised interview, Mr. Bulutoglulari said that Mr. Hristofyas, who he said was a supporter of peace, should as a first step, start work on the opening of a crossing point at Lokmaci barricade.
He added that such a move would be a gesture of good will and would create an ideal opportunity for Mr. Hristofyas to prove his sincerity towards settling the Cyprus Problem.

Noting that he and President Mehmet Ali Talat had discussed the issue of opening the Lokmaci crossing before and had been given full authority by the President to act on the issue, Mr. Bulutoglulari called on Mr. Christofias to delegate the same authority to the Mayor of South Nicosia Eleni Mavru.

Yes, this is a good starting point. Ledra Street should open immediately, now there are no excuses.

3 simple common sense conditions.

1) Repair surroudning buildings for the publics safety
2) Removal of all Turkish flags
3) Withdrawal of Turkish troops from the area.

Yes to 1 and 3 but will you remove the Greek Flags? they are very evident when we cross at Ledra Palace, why the fuss?

Happily, have said this many times. The flags will be gone. How come your side doesn't agree to any of these?
