You will be telling us next that in all your time in the UK you didn't complain about a thing .
Cyprus has a few problems ~ every country has and Cyprus is certainly no exception.
Cyprus has different problems to the UK and on the whole is a better place to live but you do need a thick skin and broad shoulders plus the ability to turn your back on the things you feel are not quite right.
I could fill at least two pages of things that are wrong with this country but having moved here I'm prepared to accept most and shrug my shoulders.
But then I could also write negatively about aspects of the UK.
There is no Utopia and Cyprus isn't even close
Sadly my wife is becoming fed up and is regretting having moved here ~ it probably won't be long before she insists we go back to the UK even though we haven't yet fallen foul of the more nasty aspects Cyprus can offer.
The change over the last 15 years is so noticeable it's hard to imagine it's really the same place.
The truth is out there lady ~ you just can't see it yet ~ you haven't been here long so I would say you are still basically in holiday mode and haven't quite grasped the reality of Cyprus yet or you are cocooned in a "isn't Cyprus wonderful" false reality .
Wait until you have been ripped off a few times and we will see your attitude change ~ but I doubt you will ever let us know that your countrymen have screwed you over a deal ~~ how could they as they want to nurture and look your best interests as a returning Cypriot .
There are some genuine Cypriots and there are some nasty ones ~ sadly the nasty ones are becoming a greater number .
I actually love Cyprus and I'm willing to accept it warts a all ~ even though sometimes the warts are often hard to come to terms with.
Bill ~~~~ not Cypriot but love Cyprus ~ haven't been ripped off yet but wide awake to the possibility and see Cyprus and Cypriots with open eyes and not just my heart.

I will take this opportunity to express my view, that the first and worst invaders who brought their Cruelty to Cypriots and continue to exercise it by denying 200,000 GCs their homes, enforced by 43,000 Turkish soldiers were the Ottomans, who are the Turks.
What's more, by continually pasting overly-long text, equates you with a virus.

My father had an operation in Cyprus two days ago.He was very scared and had not slept for three days prior.
He spoke to me on the phone today,he feels great and has nothing but admiration for the doctors the nursing staff and the treatment he received.
He has a great love for life and for Cyprus and it's people,he maintains when you are in need in Cyprus, people rally round, friends you haven't seen for months are concerned and take an interest.
He feels that has now dissapeared in the UK,maybe he is right ?

A friendly 'virus'. One who extended his hand to you in friendship and which you bit.
The article was neutral and shows that both sides have been hurt.
Thanks Halil. It was good to see an observation from 'others' point of view.
It is not neutral ... it was disguised to bring in the "TRNC" as a separate state without using quotation marks ... and "Northern Cyprus".
Desperate example of trying to defend the indefensible.

As for my lovely compatriots, I would like to point to them the fact that as human beings we moan a lot, we are never happy with what we have until we lose it etc etc, and I would like to emphasis the fact that Cypriots moan about everything and gossip about everything and tease almost everyone just to give to them selves a topic to discuss while they are eating drinking driving working or breathing.
Cyprus is not perfect but is much better than other places and to the eyes of the one who love this country .... Cyprus is a paradise.

British, half Cypriot, half Greek. Can you please put all your cards on the table OrPh? Which bit of you is Turkish?
Probably her big toe as I believe she keeps catching it on the furniture as she passes ~~~~ so much hurt there
As she is of Cypriot origin there's a fair chance of a little Turkish or their forefathers in there somewhere.
The Cypriot blood line is such a multi ethnic mixture if you go back a couple of thousand or so years there's a bit of everything in there which is probably a good thing as it sure beats keep marrying your cousins.
Perhaps Oracle your extreme thoughts on the Turks stems from your own personal and deep denial ~~ and the hurt in your big toe.
Now the trend in Cyprus is to marry Eastern European girls that's added another mix into the pot and for the good of the Cypriot gene pool
What a wonderful world we live in
Bill ~~ who also stubs his big toe on the furniture but it's probably another ethnic mix causing it
