Cruelty to Cypriots ....

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Some above refer to regulations etc. and others to freedoms and I do see where they're coming from. I do however have one huge problem and that is the power of the Church in C. Religion is taken so much, much more seriously in C, becoming a sort of societal control and that is something that I am less than comfortable with.

lol that's a good saying, I should use it.

No Sega ..... since I was the first to bring up Utopia on this thread, the saying is:

There's no Utopia ... but Cyprus is close.

:D

Sorry Oracle, i think I have to agree with Bill, the place plays little bearing on wether it is Utopia in one's mind. It's all about the person, if you feel Cyprus is Utopia that is not because of Cyprus, but because of you. Even the people that come to Cyprus looking for a better life often revert back to the lifestyle the once had, as this too is brought with them.

I agree that Utopia is a state of mind... but where else can you have so much freedom for self-expression ... not in rain-soaked, regulation-mad UK!

Your right, regulated-mad certainly comes to mind. Cyprus has already put some regulation. Some regulations are good, but too many are bad. I have to say this was the no1 I had in the UK.

Sega ..... I am picking up that you are far too impressionable! :?

Are you very young ... or just incredibly indecisive?

I don't have a problem with the Church, it does not bother me if people take it seriously or not, religion is a personal thing and should be treated as such, I prefer to practice my religion on my own. This will never change in Cyprus, people mentioning religion takes it's personal touch it may have on you.

No ... you have it all wrong.

Religion is a social thing.

You take control of it.... you call the shots!

Can't get up early on Sunday ... sod it.

Having a problem ... use it! ... cross yourself and you'll attract endless sympathy.

Work with it ... :D

Religion is for the people... not the other way around.

Yes the none Cypriots among us do not fully understand the Cypriot mentality,I believe not all Cypriots understand the ever changing mentality of their own people.
I know the vast majority of British do not understand our own mentality,or in this day and age don't want to know. That's why they up sticks and head for Cyprus.

Fine ...

But once they get here ..... they just want to change things to be more like the things they were familiar with back home ...

Which they were trying to get away from in the first place ...

I think a woman should know her place in Cyprus 8)

I would like to point our two airports...one in Larnaca and the other one in Paphos. Not the best airports in the world but I can ensure you that they can move you and your stuff where you think is better than Cyprus and you can moan less and feel more happier.

As for my lovely compatriots, I would like to point to them the fact that as human beings we moan a lot, we are never happy with what we have until we lose it etc etc, and I would like to emphasis the fact that Cypriots moan about everything and gossip about everything and tease almost everyone just to give to them selves a topic to discuss while they are eating drinking driving working or breathing.

Cyprus is not perfect but is much better than other places and to the eyes of the one who love this country .... Cyprus is a paradise.
