Yes the none Cypriots among us do not fully understand the Cypriot mentality,I believe not all Cypriots understand the ever changing mentality of their own people.
I know the vast majority of British do not understand our own mentality,or in this day and age don't want to know. That's why they up sticks and head for Cyprus.
Fine ...
But once they get here ..... they just want to change things to be more like the things they were familiar with back home ...
Which they were trying to get away from in the first place ...
Be persistent and they will change. The people that persist in Cyprus changing normally leave. I do not want Cyprus to change, I want to control my own life and not a country, let politicians do that.
Their home is likely to be similar to their UK home, well mine is anyway, but this is what makes them comfortable. I am completely different to what I was in the UK. I don't go to those silly things many people in Cyprus do (brothles being one of them), but I am still the same person, with the same ethics and principles. I just learned to convey myself to the general Cypriot population.
