wow, thanks for posting that link, GR. it inspired me to google homelessnes in CY and i have come upon a plethera of problems plaguing CY, all of which could benefit from a little community service. for one, the water shortage and pollution of the water are systems that need improving. the farms there can not afford to upgrade some of these systems. maybe some of your people could get together and raise some funds for the farmers.... like we do here with our FARM AID.
i also read about child prostitution, homelessness, etc. could it be that cyprus has problems just like the rest of the world? oh my god! wake up GR! there IS room for improvement in CY.

Right, so here you were googling "homelessness in Cyprus" and you struck "gold" when you hit a terrible natural phenomenon of this region called "water shortage"???

You could’ve just asked me GG… there’s like 3 homeless people in Nicosia I often see, so that gives you an idea on the total number for the island.

i also read about child prostitution, homelessness, etc. could it be that cyprus has problems just like the rest of the world? oh my god! wake up GR! there IS room for improvement in CY.

Child prostitution in Cyprus? Unheard of...

3.5 million? Wikipedia, GR!? Did you write the article or edit it? "Honestly people ..."

 And for goodness sake, GR!, at least quote it correctly "847,000 - 3,470,000" with a differential of 2,623,000! Mighty accurate statistic?!

Points taken for lack of credible sources and inaccurate statistics.

Hey, goofball...

They found that, on a given night in October, 444,000 people (in 346,000 households) experienced homelessness - which translates to 6.3% of the population of people living in poverty. On a given night in February, 842,000 (in 637,000 households) experienced homelessness - which translates to almost 10% of the population of people living in poverty.
Converting these estimates into an annual projection, the numbers that emerge are 2.3 million people (based on the October estimate) and 3.5 million people (based on the February estimate). This translates to approximately 1% of the U.S. population experiencing homelessness each year, 38% (October) to 39% (February) of them being children (Urban Institute 2000).

This site is no more credible than Wikipedia. If I'm a goofball, then you're a moron.

Ready for the raw egg? ...because I've got another site for you...

How many times must I disgrace you before you realize that I always do my homework?

1) what the hell does water shortage have to do with social problems? The farmers are getting more than their fair share of subsidies from the govt.
2) Sorry but I haven't seen any statistics about homeless people or indeed any homeless people here in Cyprus. Cyprus has the 3rd lowest unemployment figures from the 27 countries in the EU.
3) Child prostitution? You confused us with Belgium or the NY catholic church?

We do have issues here that need to be tackled but not these

chatting with a forum member privately, i learned about homeless that live in caves in CY.
you think the government subsidises the farmers enough for them to acutally solve thier problems and make a decent living on farming. boy, you ARE in denial!
are there no hospitals in CY? perhaps they are manned with the best paid doctors and nurses, schooled in the best medical schools in the owrld (probably not in CY either), but the sick could surely use some company, perhaps some clowns, or muscians, or story tellers for the kids.... as stated before, music is very healing, as is laugher. or do the hospitals also employ an entertainment staff? laughter IS the mest medicine. or does every family have thier own clown to take care of thier own? or perhaps it's that governement subsidsed TV that is the only thing needed?
my my, either you are in denial, or your governemtn has been really pulling one over on you.

and you aren't going to solve the CY PROB without helping yourselves. or are you so perfect, you don't need any help? (Major denial if you believe that one!)

POINT BEING: THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT, and a little voluteer work goes a long way.
or are you all a bunch of lazy sods, too cheap to give a few hours of your time a week or a month to make the world a better place?
