I know Gc's killed TC's in the past and it was wrong. But please dont sit their on your high horse making out the TC's are whiter than white. Makarios tried to save the Rebublic mate he wanted the Greek generals out of Cyprus why do you think they tried to overthrow him. He may have wanted ENOSIS in the 60's but that was not the case in 1974.

At least its accepted that in '63 you were out to 'harm' the TC's.

As Viewpoint says though, even in 2008 we cannot leave anything to chance - EU or no EU, UN or no UN - both were around in Bosnia don't forget.

The Turkish troops will no doubt leave once a solution is agreed. Don't forget that the Annan plan left very few Turkish troops in place and we can be sure that any future plan will also leave very few, if any foreign armies.

Cyprus should have no foreign army. A new army Cypriot Army should be put in place after any solution. 50%GC & 50% TC's. The TC part of the new army should be stationed in the Turkish Cypriot administered area and the GC part of the army should be stationed in the Greek cypriot administered area. This way we have equal numbers service for our future United Cyprus.

That way no Cypriot National will be harmed by anyone.

I have an issue with that. Demilitarise the island and leave ourselves open any futre attack by Turkey. Do you think we are stupid. We could never trust Turkey they could do what they did in 1974 and we wouldnt be able to protect ourselves.

Forget it. New Cyprus Army 50% TC & 50% GC.
