The Turkish Cypriot self-isolation policy from 1963 onwards

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Few days ago Christofias declared that both sides are to blame for Cyprus problems in 1963, which he was commended for his speech from some TC's and GC's on the forum.

I am yet to hear a similar speech from Talat. Why is that Nurgary.??

Yes a good start from him - but how many here don't??

Now Talet may not agree with GC leader as he may see it was only GC to blame back then.

I'm sorry, I must have misunderstood you. I thought you said in your previous post
"it puts f**k all to rest - damage was done on both sides - can't you admit that". So Nurgary, if damage was done by both sides, and Christofias is accepting his share of the blame on the behalf of the GC's, don't you think Talat should do the same, accept share of the blame on the behalf of the TC's also. If you know both sides were at fault, are you telling us that Talat does not. Perhaps you should be the "president" and Talat should be here in your place arguing with GR.!!

No it appears there is a change in policy across the GC population.

The main issue is both sides just can't agree figures or %'s. You say a few 100 TC's died and thats it. Your last President said none had. The UN agree there are over 550 TC missing.

If we they Cypriots wanted to be part of the Greek state thats our choice and our right. Just like Athens was liberated after 4 centuries of Ottoman rule, and just like the rest of the Greek islands and territories were gradually liberated and became part of the Greek state, the same right we had.

Or was it fine when Cyprus was part of the Ottoman and British empires against the will of the great majority of people, but when the great majority of Cypriots themselves wanted to be part of the Greek state that was not OK?

Here is the first incident where Cypriots, along with the rest of Greeks, tried to revolt against their oppressors to be liberated and live free in their own state:

During the Greek War of Independence in 1821, the Ottoman authorities feared that Greek Cypriots would rebel again. Archbishop Kyprianos, a powerful leader who worked to improve the education of Greek Cypriot children, was accused of plotting against the government. Kyprianos, his bishops, and hundreds of priests and important laymen were arrested and summarily hanged or decapitated on July 9, 1821.

Oh, how evil those Cypriots (and Greeks in general) to want their freedom! How nice those Turks and British who punished the evil Cypriots for daring to ask for their liberation and self-determination

I repeat: The Cyprus problem is due to UK and Turkey using brute force, and the TC minority as excuse, in order to deny to the Cypriot people their freedom and self-determination. Thats the root of our problem.

Here are some clips from a British made documentary that show how the UK and Turkey used the TC minority to serve their interests on our island:
