Hate between the two communities is what serves the Turkish aim of partition.
Yes, the ongoing occupation naturally creates some hate among the victims, but definitely the policy of RoC is not hate against TCs since the aim of our side is re-unification. Our education is not directed against TCs. Against Turkey and their invasion and occupation yes, against TCs no. Even your crimes against us are almost muted intentionally.
That crap used to work years ago but has been exposed for what it is Piratis.....The education system as well as any other system has been run by EOKA members for decades and their aims are clearly marked. Every young GC that comes onto this forum is testament to that. There are very few GCs here that have had a clue as to what happened before 1974 and the world that I live in is the same. I spoke to an English guy today that did not even know about British soldiers being killed by GCs let alone what happened to us TCs....Your propaganda has worked well up to now but will not any longer. We have a history as well and when I get a seven year old GC at a friends party telling me that we TCs took Cyprus away from him then the reality is there for all to see.
Zan, while what I say is based on truth and facts, because I studied in those schools, what you say is based on your usual propaganda.
Just because you keep brainwashing your children with one sided and over-exaggerated propaganda about what happened in a mere decade half century ago in order to cultivate hate against Greek Cypriots this doesn't mean we should do the same. It is your aim to spread hate between the two communities, not ours. Or maybe in your history books you mention that the intercommunal conflict was started by TCs in 1957, and that TMT has also killed 100s of innocent Greek Cypriots? I bet you don't.
About the 7 year old I doubt he said "TCs". He probably said Turks, and that would be nothing but the truth. The Turks took the northern part of our country, ethnically cleansed it from most Cypriots, replaced them with mainland Turks, changed the names of our towns and villages, destroyed our churches and everything else Greek and Christian, and declared that part of our island as supposedly being Turkish.
When you put a huge flag right on our face to remind us the above it is funny to come and accuse our education because people naturally hate the invadors.
You are so right Piratis!
It was exactly this flag and seeing it for the first time that made my 10 year old start asking the most emotive questions about the Turkish Invasion. This graphic display of conquer and rule really grabs the visual imagination of children.
It is the worst PR exercise in Human History.
How could I justify to a 10 year old that a country could stoop so low, as to deface a mountainside to brand its trophy, the seizure of half a country and removal of its people, with its own label.
Consult "Saatchi and Saatchi" Turkey ..... you have bad taste!
