Now now Oracle you know as well as I do that the reason for purdey's post was to voice his frustration at the interviewees apparent lack of interest in time keeping and presentation without it seems any form of apology being given.

I would have done exactly the same as Purdey in that situation.

In the UK I had an additional problem to contend with and that was some candidates were being sent by the job / dole centre ~ all they really wanted was a few weeks work then the sack so they could go back on the dole .

Selecting a successful candidate is not easy and no doubt occasionally employers get it wrong but in purdey's situation the prospective employee got it very wrong as soon as he walked into the interview late and untidy.

I find people like yourself very, very dangerous. You play the game well but you let yourself down when trying to use your wily charms.I will keep up the challenges, not to endear myself to other forum users, but to remind all things are not always what they seem.
Here's to a continued joust...

I like to think so. I chose Sega because I used to play a lot of computer games, mmm.... still do, but Sega remains as my name.

What advice did I give regarding interview techniques .... you who fails to read what is written?

My interest was getting at the root cause of purdeys discomfort at his decision.

Comparing the calibre of people I have interviewed, to the college drop-outs you deal with, does not make for fairness ... so I will let it go, that you may pick according to the cut of someone's cloth and I according to their intellect and scholastic abilities. 8)

Their confusion would only arise, from trying to make sense of your utterances ....

And common is the only sense with which you are familiar .....
