How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Cyprus ... The Darling of a New World Order!

Postby Oracle » Tue Feb 26, 2008 7:59 pm

Cyprus is at the Centre of the World .... :D

It is proving pivotal in amalgamating the major Powers of the World.

Thanks to past efforts and the ties of our new President, we are central to links between the EU, US, Russia and China.

The New World Order is Born .... our friends!

Now ... all together ... 8)

Turks go home!

.... do I hear the sound of suitcases being packed :D

Quick before you miss that ferry to Syria  ... you have miss-timed .... no one needs Turkey for anything anymore.

The remnants of your Ottoman Empire are being swept under the rug ...

A New World Order ....

Ahem .... Cough Cough!

I know last night was quiet on the forum, and we are all suffering from post electoral stress disorder .....

..... but I would post an opinion on this view if I was a Turk or a GC who had not initiated the thread ....

SOrry, oracle but your post confused me. Are we congratulating christofias for uniting the proletariat of the world or are we demonstrating against the occupation. I'm not sure which hat to put on....the anti-communist or the anti-turkish?

Sorry I forgot some are not so enamoured with our New World Order status ...

But for the first time in World History ..... we have united the proletariat with the bourgeoisie with the capitalists with the socialists ...

Everyone has been united by us :D

Except for the Turks ... they are isolated from the New World Order until they leave Cyprus ... (then we might think about letting them in  ).

Let us presume the new American president has to make a choice between supporting the Communist President of Cyprus and their most powerful allies , the Turkish Government , I bet you the USA will support our new communist president , what say you !!!!
My Cypriot comrades , your beds have been made now cut the crap lay on them and accept that our failures are of our own makings .
A communist President of Cyprus and the only one in the EU , displaying images of comrade Che Guevara , if it wasnt so tragic it would be hilarious .

Well that's at the crux of my new found optimism :D

Previously the US did not care two cents for Cyprus compared to Turkey.

We lacked gravitas.

Now, with the full weight of Russia and China behind us, we are a much more attractive package.

They have to sit up and listen.

So now we have to make some serious noises about removing those Turks.

I see only a new set of foreigners who can be dragged into the Cyprus problem and blamed later when TC fails to agree with GC.

Unless there is something in it for themselves, I think most foreigners are thoroughly fed up with Cyprus and its problems. Now we have two leaders, voted into office by their respective communities, who are not hardliners, and who have the mandate to speak to each other and come to an agreement without any Russians, Chinese, Americans, British, Turks or Greeks interfering.

I know that we've been here before and been disappointed, but at least neither leader brings baggage about enosis or taksim to the table.

With the full might of Russia and China !!!! They would not even fart in our faces let alone help our cause !!

Miltiades,

I shared some of your fears about foreign reaction if Christofias were elected. Well, the surprise was how positive the reaction has been. Gordon Brown invited him to London, the Americans welcomed the change, and so did the major EU players. Christofias in his very first speech talked about retaining the mixed economy as we have always had in Cyprus. Maybe he is not as communist as one might think.

Yes .... the President is commonly referred to as merely left-wing ....

(I don't know if that's a good thing or bad :? )
