I seem to remember that is unlucky to put shoes on a table as that too is a sign of a death in the family, although what shoes , table and death have got to do with things I do not know.
Maybe someone has a book that could answer these questions ?
In the old days when shoes were made to last, and not many poor people had shoes to wear anyway, on a departure, the worldly posessions were placed on a table and the posessions were divided. Among the most valuable were shoes. So shoes on a table does signify death. Please dont ask where I heard that from. It was sooo long ago.
So I was right saying that the angels came down to collect the soles !!!
Nice one Miltiades. Especially for one whose God is Bacchus.
A lover of fine (and expensive? wine!) Me too!
Bubbles x
Bacchus was the god of wine. He was accompanied by Maenads, or wild dancing women !! I have had the wine but missed on the wild women , or if they turned up I was highly innebriated to have noticed !!
damn!--and that's when i dance the best, when you are highly innebriated!

why pick on the spetz? S/He has every right to be here, same as you or me. surely S/He should explain his/her comment, but then there are 11 or 12 pages that explain it, if you read this thread, or any of the others regarding the pets in CY. surely this is someone who cares about pets, which is why they posted in this thread.
yes, Spetz, speak up! tell us more!

My wife watches PHOENIX Humane Society's (in the USA) in Animal Cops every damn night. So dont tell me that the USA is a country where there is no animal cruelty. Its just more Cyprus bashing. I do not condone animal cruelty at all, but I am not going on a crusade of USA bashing now. Perhaps I should.
