HISTORY IS A PAIN

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

HISTORY IS A PAIN

Postby londoner » Tue Feb 26, 2008 9:50 am

Are we going to carry on for perpetuity re-living the tragic history of Cyprus or move on. Are we going to carry on blaiming each side for the current situation or accept blood was spilt on both sides and each side made political mistakes.

We have been divided for 34 years, are we going to look forward to a non-racisit future or keep pedalling our racist and one sided versions of history.

Surely, if Talat and Christofias cannot come to some compromise and solution then partition can be the only outcome.

Is this what Cypriots really want!

In the North Talat will loose big time if both sides cannot end it once and for all. People will start worshiping Denktas!

You are right Umit about Talat but I fear the consequences on both sides, I honestly believe we are in the last chance saloon. We go forward or back forever.

If a solution is what they both want,I would of thought the first order of business for the new president would be to get on his bike and visit Northern Cyprus.
Could you imagine the press coverage, the mileage that could be made from such a trip.Unfortunately Greece seems to be the preferred option.

That would give the impression, that ONE is desperate for a settlement at any cost..............It's a bit like dating for the first time really. Make the other person suffer for a bit in anticipation on what's to come.

Here are 4 easy steps in dealing with your new "date".

Persue, Persuade, Dominate, Conquer.

That was a "Free Advice".

I wouldn't know Umit07, since I have never been with a Cypriot Girl.

But as a Cypriot man, trust me, all girls get what they want from us.

It's very true as this joke was told to me many years ago, which was:

"Why do women have hair down there"?? "Because that's where they hide the HOOK"!!

What can say Umit07, we get "hooked" very easily.

I understand that Christofias has asked the UN to organise a meeting as soon as possible, this seems the right way to go, its imperative that things are done properly - no excuses.
