Mobile phone like LAN line?

Postby Sega » Mon Feb 25, 2008 6:57 pm

Hiya all,

Basically I have a computer in my bedroom, and it has Internet on it. Due to it's location I am here most of the day, unless of course I have to eat or go to the toilet .

Anyway, I hate using my mobile phone, it gives my a headache, all mobile phone give me a head ache. I have already purchases those handy phone-jacks somebody advised me to purchase (here on Cyprus Forum) so that I can have my land line in my room, anyhow, just wondering if I could have something similar for my mobile phone. I remember seeing one somewhere but I forgot the name.

I want the mobile phone connected to a hardwired socked and to be picked up like a normal phone. I don't want to pay electricians or to put holes in my wall, I want this to be done via normal plug. Is there such a remedy?

What on earth are you talking about converting a mobile phone to a fixed one? :? And what's that got to do with the computer/internet upstairs?

 well that might be true, there dangerous things.

Some time ago I saw a phone that worked like a LAN like, therefore it was not wireless. The wireless receiver was not on your ear, but instead on the phone unit. It looks and worked like a normal phone, put instead of going in a phone line it was connected to a sim. Hope this cleared it up.

Do you want to use your mobile as a modem ?? You can buy a gadget which uses a mobile network to connect to the internet . Thats what I am using at the moment as I am working away from home.

No that's not what I want, but it sounds interesting, which phone do you have and how did you pull it off. I would be interested to know.

Unless you've got plenty of Euros to burn forget about connecting to the Internet via your mobile phone.

I thought MTN did something for cheap, so I guess it's expensive. Does 3G not exist where you pay a monthly fee and your always online with your phone. I was thinking of getting one of those super portable machine and connecting online.
