Postby halil » Mon Feb 25, 2008 12:37 pm

on my latest trip to İstanbul , i met a Greek businessman from Greece . We spend 3 days together . He asked me if i know the meaning of the his sir name . His grandfathers comes(his roots ) from İzmir from Turkey.they used to have little ships and they were carring goods from the islands.
do you think his sirname is something to do with sailing.
İ told him that some people has got same sirnames in Cyprus too.Speacialy owner of the Dome hotel in Kyreania. We used to call it Katsalli's hotel may be they were relatives too.

No Halil, I don't think there is such a surname used in Cyprus.

The owner of Dome Hotel is called Katsellis. There is another famous writer and former PM from Kyrenia called Rina Katselli. I believe it is derived from katsella meaning cow in greek cypriot dialect. (I am not joking)

Kurupetos ... do not waste your time with halil's little propaganda posts ... He does not care about any name .... He just wants to pass on the "fact" that there are Greek business-men in "Turkey" ...

So shallow ......

(Notice how he emphasised that it was a Greek business-man from Greece.... lest there be any doubt! )

You are such a wonderful character OrPh; Not.

But I like you     So predictable.

Perhaps you will criticise me for calling Istanbul/Istin Poli/ Constantinople/ Costantinopoli/Konstantiniyye/Byzantium; the diamond of the Bosphorus.

Only you on the forum believe that you think you know what we know. Either grow up or 'skeet OFF'.

Have a nice day.

Phoenix your mind really does work in mysterious ways. So what if there are Greek business men in Turkey?
What have we got to gain from a fact like that?
