That was the most lame excuse.

Ο Ταλάτ δηλώνει έτοιμος να συνομιλήσει με τον νικητή των εκλογών



Λευκωσία: Ο Τουρκοκύπριος ηγέτης Μεχμέτ Αλί Ταλάτ δήλωσε πως είναι έτοιμος να έχει συνομιλίες για λύση του Κυπριακού με αυτόν, που θα κερδίσει τις σημερινές προεδρικές εκλογές. ''Τώρα, που ο Τάσσος Παπαδόπουλος βγήκε από την κούρσα των εκλογών, πιστεύω ότι θα μπορέσει να υπάρξει νέο άνοιγμα για το Κυπριακό. Οποιος και αν νικήσει στις εκλογές είμαστε έτοιμοι να συνομιλήσουμε μαζί του'', είπε ο κ. Ταλάτ. Ανέφερε επίσης ότι εάν θα υπάρξει λύση στο Κυπριακό αυτή θα πρέπει να έλθει τώρα, διαφορετικά η ειρήνη θα αποτελεί πλέον ένα απλό όνειρο.

Talat has stated that he is ready to start negotiations with whoever wins the election today now that paps is out the door. I beleive Erdogan mentioned the same thing last monday after last Sundays elections. Dont worry, we will play our part in this game :wink:

... but I hope this time that no Cypriots will not adopt the Turkish propaganda as they did against Papadopoulos.

While I never said he was ideal, I supported Papadopoulos because I considered him the best available choice. When that choice was democratically removed, I chose the one I believed was second best. If the Cypriot people had voted for Kasoulides, then that would be the only choice, and I would have supported Kasoulides against our common enemy. This is the unity that all talked about. Lets see how many of them will put their words into actions, because words are cheap, and actions are what count.
