Maybe, but with bases in Turkey, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and probably others that I don't know about it may just be that they are only walking around in mild concern.

Today they will have a Christofias / Papadopoulos led government

Actually, there’s a scientific name for what has happened… it’s called “crisscross”!

good post Ms. O,

mura, you must come up with something new. A little old your argument and a little loose with dates. I have know idea if you are reading a text, but if you were sentient in those heady days you would understand that Cypriots were not a party to the coup. People were glad, under the circumstance, to receive the assistance of Turkey whether they were Turcophone or Grecophone on the island. However, the Turkish Army, clearly had other designs. And what appeared to be an act of Guarantorship, quickly became a nightmare to the victims of what was a limited few. No uprising of the Greek-Cypriot mass rose to welcome Sampson or the Junta. Your "you", in that regard is misplaced, and in reality, since I assume you are an intelligent person something of a lie.

...the Cuban flag is far more relevant, vis a vis the USA. Cyprus, like Cuba, holds a special interest to the American National Security interests, far more important than their irrelevant size.

Christophias is in power and his initial statements last night in which he mentioned Talat and Turkish Cypriots several times in a positive way were very encouraging and will certainly be noted, both in north and south and equally important, abroad!I have never heard any other Greek-Cypriot leader, even Vasiliou make such positive overtures!I am sure we all want to believe that he will follow them up with deeds and he seems a main of action! Both him and Talat can talk straight to each other and find an acceptable compromise which everyone with any sense of goodwill and reality will give them full backing on!As for Turkey, the Turkish Cypriots know how to stand up for themselves and they did it in 2003,but Papad. and his cronies blew it by failing to weigh up the situation and encourage them!We could well find ourselves facing a similar series of events as a result of yesterdays elections here so let's grasp it by the horns and start by demolishing the Berlin Wall in Ledra St!
