I second this! Tried a great commandaria in a pub in Limassol the other day. It was home made from Kalo Chorio of Agros and stored in a huge wooden barrel. Must try to get some for myself next time I'm in the area.

Cheers Halil. Is Aphrodite the one made by Keo? I have tried that one but it is a bit too harsh for me. Have not tried your other two!
Seeing as how this thread has gone continental, may I recommend a very good South African red - 'Rockridge' and a good white wine is any Brown Brothers - from Australia.

I got a couple of cases of Nelion Dry Red and Shiraz the other week – it is ‘cold bottled’ and doesn’t contain preservatives. Recommended.

i do get headache too but not always .
