How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Insan,

I don't take personaly things that are said in this forum. I'm sad if you wish to withdraw from here but I think that you will be back! Talking is not a waste of time. That has been the problem for too long - not talking to each other.

If its any consolation, I do agree with much of the things you say, but I also think that sometimes there are misunderstandings which are inevitable when discussing things in a text only forum. Expressions, feelings, intentions etc are very difficult to put accross with just words.

Anyway, I do hope we see you back soon.

Take care

You are right my friend, Pantelis. However, right wing governments still have been poisoning the brains of people with propaganda material related with the past. I don't think the ruling elite of both sides will ever come together for a sincere hand shake, appologies and reconciliation. Therefore vast majority of Cypriots will always believe what has been told them about the past. It's not only far past but recent past and everyday as well.

Still both sides interprete the ongoing events in direction of their own perspective, interests, strategies and dialectic.

First of all, for a healthy communication, a better understanding, better friendships and cooperation; we should speak the same language or speak each other's language at an advanced level. Until then, I believe that we won't be able to take a sincere; honest step forward.

Communication between the masses of two communities is very weak due to language barrier. Going to bi-communal activities, visiting other side but just looking each other's face and repeating the few common words can't help the relationships being progress and strengthened. Thus we keep standing where we are.
