they are all out doing volunteer work. why i bet some of the musicians on the forum are out right now perfoming in the hospitals for the terminally ill.

 If somebody is terminally ill what he wants is his family and if possible to go to his home to die and not in the hospital. He doesn't need some musician to play to him the 9th of Beethoven!

i guess you don't believe taht there is a healing power to music? ever heard the saying "music soothes the savage beast"?

likewise, the relationship with a human and a pet is also healing. her in the USA, we have pets that are specifically trained and certified to go into nursing homes and hospitals to help the patients. it is very healing.

i am sorry you are unaware of this.

GG,
Yes , this happens in the U.K. too, it seems that the presence of a gentle dog or cat can work wonders, helping the elderly , relieving stress and lifting depression, also for damaged and abused children it seems they will talk to an animal where they would clam up with a human. Dogs have also been known to "sniff out" certain cancers with amazing accuracy.

Cheshire Cat,
Can't imagine why can you? It's an emotive topic at the best of times.

Just to let everyone know....
I will be posting some facts & figures about "PAWS" dog shelter over the weekend in order that you can see just how much joint effort is required in running such a place. Don't forget please that this is a charity which has no paid members at all. :D

Just to let you know we dropped some change in the "PAWS" collection jar at one of our local shops today ....

Your drive is starting to show ......

Oracle,
Thanks kindly. If you watch this forum over the weekend I will be posting some facts & figures. It will astound you. :D Just realised I said that before! Lack of brain matter!
