Despite the above Kasoulides has managed to win a significant perectage from other parties. His philosophy has won and I need to congradulate him for this. I never believed in Communism and I will never do .

By the way my 87 y o Grand mother has voted as expected Christofias ...
I need to congratulate Kasoulides for this achievement despite this collusson.

DUSI has won and gets Stronger!

Don't be a bad loser. The Cypriot people have made a democratic choice like they did last week. Why can't some people respect democracy?

Indeed Piratis , the people of Cyprus made a democratic choice .
The countdown to recognition has begun in earnest and the "plan" that will be used to sell it to the people of Cyprus is already on the drawing board .
Mark my words , that this election result will go down in the history of CYPRUS AS ONE OF THE 3 BIGGEST BLUNDERS OUR NATION HAS SUFFERED.
The first was to ditch the Zurich agreements so soon after independence , the second was to invite Turkey to invade and this current one to isolate Cyprus and make it not only the joke of Europe but the darling of Cuba , Moldova , Iran Kazakhstan and all other Anti American tin pot little states.
Off to have a bottle of RED Chateau Comradof 2008 !!
LONG LIVE THE ROC , MAY WE LIVE TO FIGHT ANOTHER BATTLE .

Oooohhh so that is your plan .... keep the battles coming ...

Well they will with your outdated ideology ...

Move with the times Miltiades ... we do not have to go back to the 60's ... just because that is when you left ...

Time did not stand still for the one constitution we were offered.

We are still battling to rectify what we were given in the '60s ... that's how I see it. And none of the old ways suit.

Who has invited Turkey to invade?

Turkey was" invited " to invade by the extremists Cypriots along with the Greek irresponsible Junta . I think you misunderstand the point that I'm making and that is that our misfortunes ARE of our own making , regardless which function of the "political " scene was directly predominantly responsible. What I'm trying to say is that you can not blame AKEL when in a few months time recognition begins to become a reality , you must put the blame squarely on the shoulders of the Cypriot people. This election result has confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt where the Cypriots want to be in 5 years from now. The outcasts of Europe and the West. You Sir have made your bed now lay on it , dont blame the West when it turns its back on Cyprus , don't be surprised that the Americans will be the first nation to begin the dismantling of the embargoes , dont be at all surprised that this time next year your dream and mine of unification is buried for good.

May I finish by expressing my support to the new government of the ROC and add that I most sincerely hope that my predictions are wrong.

That is the cowards way out.

You are trying to have it both ways ...

If things go wrong, you take the credit for saying you were right.

If things go right, you take the credit for having hope.

We'll stand with them Milt, we'll do the dirty work of excusing them to foreigners and correcting this image of Communism that is already appearing in the worlds press. Titles such as "Communist govt in Cyprus!" have already started appearing in US headlines. The govt need to begin a collosal project of image building and PR work.

They need to get rid of the RED FLAGS, the CHE GUEVARA FLAGS, THE FIDEL FLAGS, I think I even saw a Venezuelan flag in the celebrations glorifying Chavez of all people!!! Its all nice to be insulted by Greek flags and to demonstrate the horrifying shock that some members have exhibited but where is the horror regarding this xenomanic and irrelevant flags of foreign revolutionaries and past (dead) ideological systems?

Priority No 1 CHANGE THE IMAGE and never breath a word of your communist ideals to ANYONE!

Hoping someone is listening.

Miltiades, I am sick and tired reading your bullshits! Enough! Eat this for a starter, and if you continue on this nonsense, I will give you some more to eat!

US - CHRISTOFIAS ELECTION

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Bryza congratulated President-elect Demetris Christofias on his election victory, saying the US looks forward to working with him for a comprehensive Cyprus settlement.

In a statement on Sunday, Bryza said ``we congratulate President-elect Christofias on his election and the citizens of the Republic of Cyprus on a free and fair election.``

``We look forward to working with President-elect Cristofias` new government, once it is sworn in, to deepen our bilateral relations and pursue a comprehensive Cyprus settlement that reunifies the island into a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation,`` he concluded.
