Where did you read that Christofias "preached" to change the anthem?? Not in some SMS or email send by Kasoulides I hope!!


I think the relevance of National Anthems nowadays is vastly overrated.

After all National Anthems were only brought in as jingoistic ways of rousing the men to prepare and fight in battles.

Perhaps we need to put them aside, and detach them altogether from politics ..... :D

So what would they play if Cyprus wins a gold medal at the Olympics or Marcos wins a grand slam (I wish)?

That's fine, that's sport. They can choose according to popular preference.

I suggest "Anthems" be kept out of politics, because they have no real relevant role ... and are played merely to rouse emotions....
