Nearly 50% is occupied by less than 1/5th of its population; bolstered by 40,000 Turkish troops.

The solution to this scenario by the blackmailing Turk-TCs, is a return to a besotted 1960’s Agreement.

Well why wouldn’t they behest for this?

This biased, beguiling bumph still retains for the 18% of TCs, 50% control.

Blatant Bisection!

I beseech a backlash to this bisection:

1. No brazen return to the blunders of the ‘60s.
2. Begin a bona fide, balanced solution for a whole Blended Cyprus.
3. Banish the borders bisecting Cyprus, and let us blend.

Phoenix, this must be the weirdest piece I have ever read in all my time on the forum. The choice of words, the inaccuracy of figures, and the vague and overly generalized message it delivers (or lack thereof), confirms that you're not political debate material… :(

ie: What's a "balanced solution"? It's anybody's guess. You say "Banish the borders..." ...sure but HOW?

Come on people, let's make this a little more interesting!

I agree with you there GR. Definitely no 'political debate material', just like me. I was going to tell her that I agree on all three points, then changed my mind in fear that she would change her mind also. We know that OrPh will under no circumstance will be in agreement with any TC, except perhaps Kikapu.

Deniz,

OrPh may well be refering to a "TRUE FEDERATION" with her above quote, which I support. Come to think of it, why doesn't other TC's support a "True Federation". We should give credit to OrPh for opening new chapters for Cyprus, as one country and non of this "two people, two language, two religion, two separate states (countries in disguise) and on and on with the TWO's.

It's beginning to sound more like Noah's Arch for god sake.

I think where we differ Kikapu is that your system still allows for future disharmony. Whereas my vision requires a true blending of the people such that they are only distinguishable by personal preferences ...

Blend (the verb) expanded in meaning: To mix
Synonyms: amalgamate, cement, coalesce, combine, commingle, commix, compound, fuse, integrate, interblend, intermix, meld, merge, synthesize, unite, weld
Antonyms: divide, separate, unmix

Lets walk before we can run Oracle.

I would also like to see your vision come true, but one step at a time.

We have 50 States in the USA, and they do not have a concern with your concern which you said "I think where we differ Kikapu is that your system still allows for future disharmony". I don't think so. Anyone in the USA can pick up and move to any place they want to live, work or retire. Same can be true in Cyprus with a True Federation with North and South as two States with a strong central government which will be located in Nicosia DC (District of Cyprus).

Really ....

If "New Orleans" and "Seattle" where as close in proximity as "TC" and "GC" villages would be ..... you will soon see how your system would oscillate out of control.

Only when your types still exist Phoenix, if we want to solve the Cyprus problem, we must first gather in a cage all of your kind from both sides and sink them to the depths of the distant sea for ever and ever and ever, and then build a statue to remind us of the scum that ruined the island so we can spit on it everyday when we walk past and never fall for it again. :D

Shahmaran ........ If you really care to conclude from my opinions instead of yours:

I aim hate at those that divide the island ..... currently the Turks.

I have never approved of the 1960's Agreement ..... because it highlights differences between two communities.

I advocate blending .... no separations due to language, religion etc.

Just people living, voting, trekking anywhere around the country ..... not thinking whether they will be in a GC or TC region.

Any rational inference from that is as far from what you accuse me of as you could get.

PHOENIX, you cannot isolate the fact that we are divided today "because of the Turks" alone, while ignoring what got us here in the first place, that might sound very convenient in practice since it takes a whole load of responsibility off your back and place it all on the Turks, but it is far from being accurate.

You have to accept the reasons for them being here first, and then move on to finding a solution accordingly, simply "removing the Turks" just does not cut it, I'm sorry madam. And i am not saying this as a TC but as a Cypriot.

There is a good reason why many TC's have trouble trusting the GC's even today, you have to ask yourself why that is.

Shahmaran ...

Why do you think I mention the divisive and separatist nature of the 1960's Agreement?

That was the virus which spread the disease which gave Turkey the excuse for the WRONG treatment.

With consultation we will find the right cure .......

With your kindpermission OrPh. My view is that the 'virus's' existed prior to the 1960's agreements. The leaders pre-1960 suddenly saw Nationalism as a boost to this 'viral' attack, The 1960'agreements merely just confirmed it. Now, how do you reverse this disease which has divided us way before 1960? Brainwash a population of nearly a million? If there are many more like you this will be impossible to eradicate.
