Elections in America

Everything related to politics in Cyprus and the rest of the world.

Here is my prediction of the American election outcome in November.
My support is with Obama , but I think the race issue is far far greater than most of us consider since I believe that many traditional Democratic voters will swing the "tossup" states in favour of McCain .
I predict that McCain will receive 306 EV to Obamas 232 .
So McCain will be the next President .

Obama has 232 electoral votes as we speak right now. So Miltiades, are saying he will not get anymore EV from the
"swing states" and that they will all go to McCain.??

Miltiades, have you ever heard of the phrase used often during US election times, which is the "October Surprise". If not, it basically means, that some "dirty laundry" will surface that may or may not effect the outcome of the elections. It was widely expected for George Bush to produce Osama Bin Laden in 2004 in a cage, but not to be, but then again, we let him escape on purpose in 2002 in Afghanistan from where he was trapped at Tora Bora. Don't confuse that with Bora Bora, which is where everyone tries to escape to. Yes, we let him escape, so that we can justify the war in Iraq as well as justify spending Billions for all the companies that provide work for the US military, who are all good friends with Dick Cheney.

Anyway, I think, this years "October Surprise" is going to be, before October 4th Vice Presidential live debate, is for Joe Biden to resign from his VP nominated position and see Hillary replace him to take on Palin head on, a real "cat fight". I have seen Biden all year on talk shows on how much he did not want to be a VP, and yet, he ends up as the one who is chosen. I think the fix is in to to "The Sting" on the Republicans in the last minute. I don't believe for a moment, that Hilary was never contacted for the VP position, after all the drama during the primaries. I think the fix was in to bate the Republicans to go with a woman candidate for a VP and let them spend as much money as possible on the adds attacking Obama and Biden, then make the switch in the last minute, because Hillary is hated by the Republicans, so why give them too much time to bring her down.

Anyway, this will be the "October Surprise" of a colossal magnitude, that will leave everyone gasping for air. I hope John McCain does not get taken ill when the "aftershock" hits him. It will be just like the "shot heard around the world" in Dallas series many moons ago.

You have heard it here first.

Kikapu Obama has solid states of about 170 with a further 70 seen as "leaning " towards Obama, that makes it all about 240 presuming that all the states that are seen as leaning towards him vote so.
I believe that he will win the strong solid states giving him the 170 or so and I also believe that he will win a further 60 or so which will be some from the LEANING states and some but not many from the "undecided".
I think that the traditional power base of the democratic party , lower to middle class white voters will abandon Obama and go for McCain due mostly to the "race" factor .
I would love to see Obama in the White house , a breath of fresh air , I do however wholly believe that he will not succeed .
