To All Cypriots

Postby halil » Thu Feb 21, 2008 9:31 am

Once again To all Cypriots ,
Please help to cancer associations in Cyprus. We must all support them they are all need our help.
why not we can donate for them . I have got this PM from our forum member miltiades . I am supporting his great idea . May be we can come together and establish a committee between us and help the people from both side of the Cyprus. Why not ......... Why not .....??????

Halil , I hope you enjoyed your time in Turkey.
I very much wish to raise awareness once again in our forum members , this time I would wish to ask for funds for the G/C cancer fund and the T/C cancer fund , let our people be asked to unite in helping those Cypriots that are in need of our help. The Cancer tulip fund is standing at just over £100.00 at the moment , I will keep this entirely for cancer tulip which I will present on my next visit in March .
If you kindly make the appeal on the forum I would appreciate it .It will coincide with the change of government too.
Regards
Miltiades.

DT,
thanks for your immediate response .
We must come together and talk . how we can make this committee ?
Also Cypriots in UK and Australia or rest of the world . They can make their own commitees at the end we can work together to rise the funds.
more ideas please .
Come on Birkibrisli , Kikapu , Zan and others...........

Miltiades could you please give us some info on this "Tulip Fund". From the figure raised so far it doesn't sound very professional. Then again I think the idea is a very good one.

Cancer Tulip have confirmed the money goes directly to the sufferers and not research (so not indirectly funding experiments on lab. animals).

Halil or Miltiades ...... can you supply the details for the Cancer Charity you have chosen from unoccupied Cyprus to establish this unfortunate prerequisite.

I'm available for help etc. .... and will meet up with Miltiades when he is over.

Thanks for your support Halil , just to clarify the situation a little , I have in my collection "POT " here in the UK THE SUM OF £100 . exclusively raised for Cancer Tulip. Just to equal things up my company will donate the same amount of £100 to the Cyprus Anti - Cancer Society at their Limasol Office.
P.O.Box 53544, 3303 Limassol, Tel: 25372990
I will contact the CACS and will request their authorization to raise funds directly to them from Cyprus and through my self in the UK , at the same time inform them of the £100 donated which I will personally hand over to them on my forthcoming visit in early /Mid March.
Please post your pledge for the combined appeal , donations will be split equally between the two cancer centres .
I shall , as always , request that recipients of funds acknowledge receipt on the forum.
This appeal has NO POLITICAL CONNECTIONS .AND WILL KINDLY REQUEST THAT NO POLITICS ENTER THIS THREAD.

Does the Tulip Cancer fund have any connection to PASYCAF or Friends for Life please? Two very good cancer charities that my friends and I support?

I beg you Phoenix NOT to turn a cause like this into a "political fight" . I am getting the feeling that this thread also is gonna be hijacked by other arguments once again. Please, Phoenix prove me wrong just this once.

I am sure that will not be the case here Umit. Even she has more sense that to do that.

We will stick together on this and try to raise as much funds as possible for ANY cancer sufferer here in Cyprus wherever they live.

Umit .... don't stir ... I let your "non-professional" comment to Miltiades go by unchallenged.

Of course politics comes into it, none of us are that naive ... that is precisely why the money raised will go to one Charity from the occupied part and one to the free part of the island.

Anti-vivisection considerations are also paramount.

Furthermore, I am capable of answering comments addressed to me without the other forumers butting in on my behalf with their stupid inane views......
