I telephoned the Anti- Cancer Society in Limassol and after introducing my self to a lady , she handed me over to the
a Mr.Zahariou , one of the founding members. I begun to explain who I was , he listened patiently when I finished he
started introducing him self starting with his name , his position at the Society and that he was , before retiring , an English teacher at the Lanition Gymnasion in Limassol. I felt a lump in my throat and became emotional on realising that Mr Zahariou was my English teacher at the Lanition in 1960/61 , just before I left to come to the UK in October of 1961.
On arriving here I wrote to him in English , showing off , and he responded , that was the last contact we had. Haven't seen or spoken to him since 1961 , 47 years ago !!
I shall make a point , having been given his mobile number of meeting him in Limassol.
Something good already has happened .

I beg you Phoenix NOT to turn a cause like this into a "political fight" . I am getting the feeling that this thread also is gonna be hijacked by other arguments once again. Please, Phoenix prove me wrong just this once.

If you don't believe me just look at what happened to GR when he called me Scata Pappous , meaning Shit Grand dad !!
I was telling a few friends on the forum of my relationship with the most adorable little girl in my life , Kristina , my 4 year old granddaughter , and being the open book type that I'm I mentioned that she calls me Pappou Krasi - Grandad Wine , because of my love for wine .
I have forgiven him because he has sent me an email pledging 100 Euros for the Cyprus anti Cancer Society in Limassol. Thanks GR !!

Oracle , Halil NEVER mentioned the change of government if you care to read the first post.He was pasting what I SAID IN MY EMAIL TO HIM !!!
