I long to live in a free and united Cyprus with my Turkish Cypriot compatriots, friends and brothers, as equal partners.

Bananiot once the election finished:

Of course the solution will be partition in our case too.

Bananiot = Kasoulides = Dual Enosis

The first pic is from a right wing football club which happens to be Karoyians football club (president of Papadopoulos party) Apollon Limassol FC

The second pic is from the greek contingent ELDYK. Would you excpect a Kenyan flag here?

The 3rd pic is from the Greek national holiday the 28th of october of which Tassos has been receiving a Greek flag draped salute from the annual march for the past 5 years.

But we don't mention these details do we?

Athens/Nicosia - Newly ousted Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos said on Tuesday that he will not support either of the two candidates in upcoming runoff elections Sunday on the divided Mediterranean island. "Respectful of each person's free will, I do not wish to influence, either directly or indirectly, their decision in this election contest," Papadopoulos said.

Papadopoulos narrowly lost out in Sunday's presidential elections to former foreign minister Ioannis Kasoulides, 59, and Demetris Chrisofias, 61, head of the AKEL (progressive party of the working people) communist party.

Both Kasoulides and Chrisofias met with Papadopoulos in the hopes of gaining support for the February 24 runoff.

Although from different sides of the political spectrum, the two candidates have both said they want to quickly relaunch negotiations to unite the island with the Turkish Cypriots for fear of permanent partition.....

The ongoing conflict has been a thorn in relations between NATO allies Greece and Turkey and has served as an obstacle to Turkey's efforts to join the European Union.

Is this yet more to worry about?

Why would he choose to not give them the benefit of his experience?

Is he just too appalled at their stances?

Papadopoulos has decided with Karoyian that he will not show preference to one or the other until Karoyian gives the official stance of the party (sometime tonight we hope)

Its just courtesy to his party.

Were those photos taken in Greece, was there an election or something, am I to assume that it has nothing to do with South Cyprus, as the Greek flag is clearly being displayed?

Or have I got it all wrong and it really is in South Cyprus      but they have a "new" flag
