As i said before, the pure boy was in the wrong place the wrong time. This guy could have killed anybody who was in front of him that day. The people who left him out have done the big crime, this is what we have to search and find out, this is what the responsible people have to pay for. It wasn’t an act of hate between the communities and we all need to clear this subject once and for all.

Even if somebody is in mental institution he/she should still be brought to trial for order first and then the court later has to decide that he/she is mentally unstable.

There is no exceptions for people who are declared mentally unstable to appear in court. He/she still should have been brought to court even if it mentally unstable. And after that court can decide that this guy is not fit to be tried. There are many different levels of mental illnesses. Some harsher than the others.

And I do not think that people who have left him out should also pay for anything as well. AS I have said there are different levels mental illnesses some has to be locked in and some can be kept released after some time. May be this guy was not deemed as a threat to society and he was being released from the institution, and knowing that he can hide behind this mental illness he had gone and killed this person. There are so many scenarios that can be in play so there has to be a court for the guy instead of sending him back to mental institution immediately.

And who claims that it was an act of hate between communities. First of all it was not an act of communities at all, because it was an individual person. It MAY or MAY not be an act of hate on the individual level, but that is again up to court to decide. But even if it was not a hate crime, don’t the relatives of the killed deserve a fair trial, after all their son is being murdered for whatever the reason is.

Is that so?

A judge is medically competent to make such a decision?

If a person is medically unfit to stand trial then that is it. The person does not need to go before a court for that decision to be made.

Do not know about Cyprus but in the UK

A judge is competent to _judge_ the _evidence_ that someone is mentaly fit or not to stand trial, evidence which can be presented by the defense or the prosectuion or both. In order to do this the case (not necessarily the defndant) has to go to court.

Is that not how it works in the RoC?

As I have said in my initial post I do not know how legal system works in south but I am assuming it is the same as in north based on Anglo Saxon legal system.

That is:
Only courts can decide if a person is fit to stand for trial. Of courts does not decide about this on their own. They seek expert advice, probably medical examinations etc. etc. And after hearing all those evidence they decide if a person is mentally fit for a trial.

In other words you can not just say hey look this guys was in mental institution so there is no need to send him to courts apparently he is not fit for trial. Everybody that commits a crime should stand before court first and then courts will decide if the person is fit for trial or not.

perhaps he has been to court and that is what was decided. I don't really have any information. to suggest that this person is roaming the streets though is highly presumptiuous.

Are you doing it intentionally to keep this thread high?

What about the murderers of Isaak and Solomou that were not killed by some crazy person but by some fanatic racists like you? Those murderers were not even arrested even if they can be seen in photos and videos committing the crime.

we are talking about a little boy who was not going up a flag pole to tear a national flag or trying to cross into the north. This boy was just playing in the street and get stabbed 7 times all over and also in his head. Why do u have problems dealing with a simple question do you just want to forget about it like it never happened. You can bury your head in the sand.

Oh, yes. I forgot. He tried to go to his home, so you had to beat him to death. Yes, very justified indeed.

Who is burring his head in the sand? The person who committed that crime, was arrested, and his is now locked either in a mental hospital or in jail. What else do you want? To introduce the death penalty just for him?

On the other hand, not only those people that killed Isaak and Solomou are not locked anywhere, they were not even arrested.

Because for you the killing of those GCs was not even considered a crime!!! For you it is perfectly justified!
