Kosovo's UDI Recognized by TRNC

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Kikapu,it's a shame that the author didn't bother to do their research properly.Sir Sean Connery may be of Irish descent, but he is from Scotland.

As for Kosovo's independence being illegal - I don't think so! 23 E.U. member states have already decided to recognise Kosovo's independence as a proper country.

Purdey,if I had my way,I'd gladly meet Ian Paisley. He's a real hero who has put Ulster on the map.He should have been made a hereditary Lord years ago!

As soon as we abolish the UN, which determines what "nations" are legal or not, then every house in any country can ask for self determination and be considered to be a "legal country". Until then, they are "illegal".

Kikapu, there is a huge difference between being a country & being a nation,as the word 'nation' is THE most wrongly used word in the English language.

There are very few true nation-states that currently exist.Somaliland is a nation-state,but Kosovo is a country that is not a true nation-state though.

From where do you get the idea that it is the UN that decides whether a state is a state or not? I suspect you are, once again, stating the law as you would like it to be, not as it is.

As I said, anyone can call themselves a "state" if they wish to, the question is, are they "legal" or a "de facto" and the difference is decided by the UN if one is a member of the UN or not. International Olympic Organization will not allow 5 Kosovar Albanians to represent Kosovo, since Kosovo is not a UN member. Now, why is that.??

So suddenly it's the International Olympic Committee who decide whether a state is legal or not? I suspect it might be because Kosovo is not a member of the International Olympic Committee.

If you read the UN Charter there are quite a number of references to states that are not a member of the UN. As far as I can see, none say that if you are not a member of the UN you are illegal.
