BYE-BYE DOPOULOS: FIVE YEARS OF DARKNESS OVER

Postby Bananiot » Sun Feb 17, 2008 6:54 pm

The people of Cyprus have spoken. Five years of darkness, five years of depressive recession to the ice age are over. You can all breath a breath of fresh air. Papadopoulos is no more. He is going home. For good!

Bayrak has Tassos Papadopoulos running 3rd behind Demetris Christofias and Ioannis Kasoulides. Could this be a new beginning for Cyprus ?

The BBC says :

Polls have closed on Greek-controlled Cyprus in a closely fought presidential election seen as a pivotal step towards reuniting the divided island.
Official results are expected in hours, and exit polls suggest the three leading candidates are neck-and-neck.

Incumbent President Tassos Papadopoulos has faced stiff opposition from contenders Demetris Christofias and Ioannis Kasoulides.

With no outright winner anticipated, a run-off vote will be held next Sunday..............

Not a single Cyprus flag can be seen among the hundreds of DISY supporters celebrating and you want to talk about coming out of darkness? :?
