Did anybody read the story of a 13 year old boy who had a heart attack trying to set off a speed check sign by running past it as fast as he could over and over again.....True story...

Do you still have a license?..

Can you tell me the speeding limits in the North, if they are different to that of the South, and if the police use similar techniques. Do you use euros in the occupied areas?

Officail currency is the Turkish Lira but the Euro, Sterling and US dolars are used everywhere.

Eg: When buying a house the price is always in GBP
When buying a second hand japanese import car the price is in GBP
When buying a new car the price is in euro
The only thing we use TL for is at the supermaket  .

The speed limits are; 50 - 65 - 75 (new) - 100

Police always park there cars and wait with their radars in places where everyone drives over the limit, but drivers usually flash their head lights to let you know there are cops ahead. On average I get two tickets a year.
