Beatles

With the Beatles album 'Love' being in the news for winning 2 awards, and a lot of old songs being played on the radio today, just wondered if you have a favourite Beatle song and is there any reason behind your choice?

My personal favourite is 'Eleanor Rigby'. - for no particular reason apart from being such a haunting song....... next in line is 'Yellow Submarine' though for the life of me I cannot tell you why!

While on the subject of the Beatles, are you old enough to actually remember them? Did you have a personal favourite? I have watched old tv clips of 'Beatlemania' Scary stuff"!!

Webbo I hate 'From Me To You', the reason; it was April 63, they had just got to number one and our group/band lost the toss to support them when they came to Sheffield.
We ended up supporting Screaming Lord Sutch instead.

Well, at least that possibly explains why you are so apt to scream the same type of nonsense HE was when he foolishly embarked on a political career (or so I am led to believe).

I would have thought his influence would have worn off a little by now though, perhaps not Hmmm.

As to the Beatles, I think John Lennon's 'Imagine' was quite poignant and secures my vote. (although he may have released it as a single).

I have tapped one foot from time to time to some of their songs. However I have also despaired at the power and support they have had over the decades has been put to no real use other than increasing their personal bank balances.

I never liked them as a band, but I must admit, they wrote some good songs.

'Norwegian Wood' and 'The long and Winding Road' will always be my favourites. All the rest a very close second. The harmonics always got me. Norwegian Wood, it was the 'timbre'. Always sent shivers down me spine.
