Hi forum members,
happy valentine day all of you from Istanbul.
today (i mean tonight) will bring love and happiness for all of you.
tonight i will celebrate it with my wife at Zeytin Dalı cafe restaurant in İstanbul.Every where is full up with snow . Still snowing .

I hate Valentines day. Its so fake.
I told my gf that we are not celebrating it anymore.
I probably look cheap but I dont care.

Raiseurfist,I've never celebrated Valentine's Day,as it is just an American commercialised import.It is also the day that florists rip the guys off who are buying flowers.They charge NZ$40 for 1 red rose.If I wanted a red rose,I'd rather go into a garden & pick one.

What does a heart have to do with St. Valentine? I don't see any connection.

We have celebrated our love with a couple of bottles of Tattinger tonight.

Her indoors has gone to bed now but we had a Fab special night and I'm methis menos ok

Richard,it was just another day,as far as I was concerned.I had to attend a special meeting of my local church's Vestry last night,as we had a very emotive issue in relation to the financial situation of the church to talk about.

But even you cant argue with the fact that paople should have a special day to expess their love for each other.

Some people might not have the time or indeed the inclination to say it on a day to day basis but One day in the year .......Come on mate

I agree with Aidan on this one.How many of these silly days do we have a year.Surely we don't need a specific day once a year to tell our partners how we feel.
Oh by the way Christmas isn't far away,and Mothers day,Easter,Fathers day,Birthdays,it goes on and on.Oh let's not forget all these other silly days,you know the one's....

Went out to dinner with the GF in town, before going elsewhere for dessert, then on a little walk together.

We DIDN'T exchange cards/gifts as we both feel its just a huge marketing campaign to make people spend money.

Ok married people, members who have boy/girlfriend...did you buy presents? Did you book a table in a restaurant, a room at a hotel, rent a good movie, prepare dinner at home....?? Are you doing anything special tomorrow or you are not celebrating this day?

İ had wonderfull days in İstanbul.
İ had nice friends from Greece and Georgia.
up to friday weather was very good .Since Saturday morning İstanbul is under the heavy snow . Roads ,airport is blocked.We can not fly. İt is a good excuse for me us to stay more days in İstanbul.
Summer time new friends from Greece and Georgia are coming to Cyprus. Next valantine day we are going to meet in Greece and Same year at Summer we will meet at Georgia.

Good days all of you . we are sending snow clauds to Cyprus .İ can see it is allready snowing some part of the island .İ hope it will cover whole Cyprus.İt will be very good for our water resarvations.
