Walkies!!

Postby junemichael » Wed Feb 13, 2008 10:35 am

My name is Lillian, I have been here at the Sirius Dog Sanctuary for a long time. Maybe it’s because I’m a bit roly-poly just now, but if I had loving owners to take me for walkies then I would soon be back in shape. I am medium sized and have been spayed. I think I am about 2-3 years, but most importantly I am very laid back and love to be cuddled. If you could come and take me for walks out of the shelter, or even better, give me a loving home, please get in touch today and make me the happiest dog ever!!

Come on – lets get in shape together!

they have a dog walking scheme here in KAR (Kyrenia Animal Rescue) its very popular. You can also "sponsor" a dog for a small mthly fee and go and see it whenever you want - especially useful for those kind people who aren't here all year round and/or don't have suitable accomodation for a dog. Good luck!!

Tess...., are you also a frequenter of Kar. Every year when we go to Cyprus with my wife, one suitcase is wholelly dedicated to the dogs. We also walk and sponsor them. The few English ladies running the place are doing a fine job. But they still need continuing support from more and more dog l/ animal lovers. I realy am surprised that that they have such a variety of all kinds of dogs.

Regards

I am a great supporter of KAR, and they do indeed do a great job!!! I would love another dog, but my Giant Scnhauzer is not tolerant of other dogs getting my attention, so I do what I can with food and money donations etc. I was invited to a recent meeting regarding poisonings but was unable to make it. I believe we now have over 2,000 signatures protesting the sale of poison to the public.

If you have a petition against the sale of poison please let us know as I know many people who would sign it.

We have also been following the Poisonings through e-mail. Its sickening that no TCs turned up at the last meetings or any other body. One wonders if all the poisonings are carried out with the tacit agreement of the authorities.
I will not tell my wife (I will try) you have a schnauser. (Its her fav. After our red Cocker Spaniel died, the Schnauser is the one she wants.) she might camp outside your house early in the mornings to walk it.

And she would be most welcome!! We are on the beach most mornings by 7am, and he goes straight in the sea!! As for who walks who - well he weighs in at 55 kilos (or thereabouts) and being a schnauzer is very stubborn !!
