PRE-CAST CONCRETE SHEDS!

Postby Cyprus4MeSoon » Tue Feb 12, 2008 5:48 pm

Hi All,

We are buying a property in Cyprus and would have liked to have a large concrete shed built, to house all those bits and pieces that would normally go in the loft or shed. (we have no loft space in the new build). Because we have already used the available percentage of build allowed, we are told we cannot have this until we have the title deeds

What we thought is... what if we build a temporary building in precast concrete as common in the UK for Garages etc. We would not want to have a garage door, as we generally only want it for a shed. My questions (finally) firstly can you buy precast concrete sheds in Cyprus and if so, would this be allowed under the building regulations. This type of building in the UK are considered temporary buildings.

Many thanks

Wendie

I know the type of thing you mean but I haven’t seen anybody selling them here. Lots of people sell wood or metal sheds.

If you have a structure built that is open on two sides it will not count towards your covered area. However, it doesn’t really function as a ‘shed’.

Most people just build something on the basis that their title deeds are probably many years away. If the inspector comes and objects you can always take the thing away temporarily.

You may want to consider an old shipping container ( small size ). Very secure. Give it a coat of paint. Job done.

Thank you Cyprusgrump for the info. We really want to do things above board  ....do you know what the options are for the wood or metal sheds i.e size and cost and where to buy?
