(She's adorable!)
The video displays the power of positive reinforcement. I'll bet this geography lesson has been a daily ritual (the father sounds like a dweeb ), perhaps at bedtime, or perhaps they've started homeschooling her. The child has been motivated by mommy and daddy's clapping and squeals of delight every time she correctly recalls the location of each country. In fact, mommy and daddy haven't been providing enough positive reinforcement during the video, so she insists on it when she turns to them and claps, and they respond accordingly.
Most of us recognize that her pronunciation, rote memory, and attention to detail are well beyond those of the normal 2 year old. Although they may appear to be gifts, they may also be symptoms of a non-verbal learning disorder. I hope not because it's accompanied by a slew of deficits.
